MEXC Global Review — An Honest Evaluation Checklist

Before moving funds to any exchange, I run through the same set of questions. Here's how MEXC scored when I did this in early 2026.

Fees — Pass

Spot maker fee: 0%. Taker fee: 0.1%. Futures trading starts at 0.02% maker / 0.06% taker. Withdrawal fees vary by asset. Check the fee schedule for your specific coin — it's not always obvious, but it's published.

Compared to Binance (0.1% spot) and Kraken (0.16% taker), MEXC is cheaper on most spot pairs.

Asset Coverage — Pass

1,700+ spot pairs as of Q1 2026. Strong on altcoins and new listings. If you're looking for early-stage tokens, this is one of the better places to find them before they hit larger exchanges.

Security Track Record — Conditional Pass

No major hack on record. Basic 2FA available, with hardware key support for accounts that request it. Not self-custodial — your funds are on their servers. That's true of every CEX, but worth stating.

Withdrawal whitelist is available. Use it.

Regulatory Status — Know The Risk

MEXC doesn't serve US residents. If you're in a restricted jurisdiction, the platform may restrict withdrawals or require full KYC at any point. Read the terms for your country before depositing.

Verdict

| Criteria | Score | |----------|-------| | Spot fees | ✅ Best-in-class | | Altcoin selection | ✅ Excellent | | Security features | ✅ Solid | | Regulatory clarity | ⚠️ Region-dependent | | Futures risk | ⚠️ High leverage available |

Use MEXC for spot trading on altcoins. Treat the futures section with caution unless you've already logged real P&L data on your risk management.
